I know how important it is for you to get everybody ready for a great session. Here are a few tips to help you out.
Most of the time, it involves mom talking to her family. I know you can do it! Here’s how to do it:
Communicating with your spouse just how much these photos mean to you. We all know that our husbands would rather be watching sports, but when you share how much these pictures mean to you and how he can make your entire WEEK by doing this. He is sure to light up the camera for you!
Remind your spouse that this is only one hour of his life. After that, he can go back to keep watching sports , or any other activity he enjoys doing it.
Be easy on your spouse and do not make him feel stressed about the session before you even got to the location. Play relaxing music before you come to the session, watch a movie with the family and do not forget to feed him and the kids.
Talk to your kids about the session about a FUN way versus YOU BETTER SMILE OR ELSE". Play with your little ones during the session, tickle them, chase them and make them laugh, those smiles are much better than asking them to say cheese, or yelling at them to smile.
If your kids are old enough to understand, encourage them to cooperate and afterward they get a reward ( Ice cream, Donuts, etc).
I love photographing families and making each session unique.
